Gunmen stormed the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, early Wednesday morning, where an explosion was heard amid heavy shooting, Express news reported.
"Gunmen broke into the premises of the university early this morning," Sardheri police officials told The newspaper.
The officials added that two guards were injured in the door. Meanwhile, extensive cooking continues in the area and heavy contingents of elite force have been deployed.
Although the number of armed men still can not confirm initial reports say that four armed men entered the campus.
According to reports, more than 3,000 students are present inside the university building, while several girls are shelters inside. Staff members also remain inside the building.
No reports of death have been reported so far.

یونیورسٹی سے باہر نکلنے میں کامیاب ہونے والے طلبا کا کہنا ہے کہ انتظامی و تدریسی عملہ اور متعدد طالبات بھی یونیورسٹی کے اندر موجود ہیں۔
