Updated: June 11, 2026 Published: 2012-04-27

(eNews.pk) - QUETTA: The Brewery Road Police Station has registered a case in connection with the Kirani suicide blast, but no arrests have been made as yet, Geo news reported.

According to police sources, the FIR was registered over the complaint of SHO Brewery Road Police Station under the charges of terrorism, murder, attempt to murder, and possession of explosives.
Police say the investigation was afoot and a DNA test to identify the bomber was also under consideration.
Earlier, police claimed to have foiled a suicide attack bid in Kirani area of Brewery Road by shooting down an alleged suicide bomber on Thursday.
Officials said that the policemen, who had been deployed at the Kirani check-post near Hazara town, tried to intercept a suspect who was forcibly attempting to cross the post. Despite signals to stop, the suspect disregarded the police and showed his suicide vest.
The police opened fire and the bomber sustained multiple bullets injuries and breathed his last on the spot.
Additional police force and Frontier Corps (FC) reached the spot and cordoned off the area as the bomb disposal squad examined the body of the alleged bomber. ìOur policemen opened fire on the alleged bomber when the deceased disregarded the police signals and threatened themî, said police officials.
SP Saddar Malik Arshad while talking to The news said that neither any accomplice of the bomber was injured in the firing nor police arrested any accused in the case. During physical search of the deceased, police claimed to have recovered a suicide jacket containing 4 to 5 kg explosive material. Later, the body of the bomber was removed to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for autopsy.
It may be recalled here that it was second incident of killing the bomber and target killers during last one week in Quetta, as earlier police claimed to have shot dead two alleged target killers in Brewery area on April 23.
