Khyber Agency operation, Security high alert

(eNews.pk) - PESHAWAR: Security is on high alert in Peshawar in the backdrop of security forces operation against extremists in Khyber Agency and as a result of the Friday prayer, Geo news reported.




According to police, the security forces struggle against extremists in the tribal belt bordering Peshawar due to the extra police checkpoints were set up in the suburbs of Matini and Budh Bair, while additional troops are deployed.
Police officers are stationed at the mosques of Peshawar Cantt and indoors, while walk-through gates were installed at the main mosques.
The main road leading to the Saddar Bazaar is closed due to security risks.
