Investigation report ready:RPP case hearing resume

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will resume hearing the RS22 million rental power projects (RPP) scam today (Wednesday), Geo news.




Investigating Officer Asghar Khan had prepared a report on page 30 of the case in which the current Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf (then Minister of Water and Electricity) was responsible for corruption in rental power plants. The three charges against him are:
First, not in preventing corruption in the lease as power federal minister for water and energy.
Secondly, the report said, pressurizing the Economic Coordination Committee for wrong decision.
Third, the report also stated that the then federal minister for water and power deliberately tried to benefit the contractors through the agreement.
Based on these findings, the Supreme Court issued an arrest warrant for Raja Pervez Ashraf prime minister and 15 other accused in the case on January 15.

اسلام آباد…رینٹل پاور عمل درآمد کیس کی سماعت آج ہو گی، کیس کی تحقیقاتی رپورٹ میں رینٹل پاور منصوبوں میں بدعنوانی کا ذمے دار راجا پرویز اشرف کو ٹھہرایا گیا ہے۔ذرائع کے مطابق تحقیقاتی افسر اصغر خان کی 30 صفحاتی رپورٹ میں راجا پرویز اشرف پر تین الزامات لگائے گئے ہیں۔ ایک یہ کہ بطور وفاقی وزیر پانی و بجلی وہ رینٹل پاور معاہدوں میں بدعنوانی روکنے میں ناکام رہے۔ دوسرا یہ کہ انھوں نے اقتصادی رابطہ کمیٹی پر غلط فیصلے کے لیے دباوٴ ڈالا اور تیسرا یہ کہ انھوں نے ٹھیکے داروں کوفائدہ پہنچانے کی جان بوجھ کر کوشش کی۔ رپورٹ میں کہا گیا ہے کہ رینٹل پاور منصوبوں میں بدعنوانی کے ذمے دار راجا پرویز اشرف تھے۔ سپریم کورٹ نے اسی انکوائری رپورٹ کی بنیاد پر راجا پرویز اشرف کی گرفتاری کا حکم دیا تھا۔ اس رپورٹ میں راجا پرویز اشرف کے خلاف ریفرنس کی سفارش بھی کی گئی ہے۔ سپریم کورٹ میں رینٹل پاور کیس کی سماعت کل ہونی تھی تاہم دیگر مقدمات کی طوالت کے باعث اس کی سماعت نہیں ہوسکی۔ رینٹل پاور کیس کی سماعت آج ہوگی جس میں پراسکیوٹر جنرل دلائل دیں گے۔
