ICC banned me before court verdict: Asif

(eNews.pk) - LAHORE: Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif said Monday his appeal against a seven-year ban for spot-fixing will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in February.




The 29 year old was put in prison by a British court in November last year after being found guilty of corruption charges on intentional non-balls during the Lord's Test against England in August 2010.
Teammates Salman Butt and Mohammad Aamer were also put in prison in the same case. All three were released earlier this year.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) also gave the trio has long been banned. But Asif, who returned to Pakistan on Sunday, told reporters that he had his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
"I've come home to after a year and missed my family, friends and my country," said Asif. "My appeal against the ICC ban will be heard in February next year and I hope I will get justice."

لاہور … اسپاٹ فکسنگ کیس میں سزا یافتہ کرکٹر محمد آصف نے کہا ہے کہ عدالتی سے فیصلے سے پہلے آئی سی سی نے سزا سنائی جو قانون کی خلاف ورزی ہے، معاملہ ثالثی عدالت میں اٹھا چکا ہوں،اسپاٹ فکسنگ میں اپنے ملک کے کچھ افراد کا بھی ہاتھ ہے۔ لاہور میں میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے محمد آصف کا کہنا ہے کہ اپنے ملک کو بدنام کرنے کا سوچ بھی نہیں سکتا، آئی سی سی کی سماعت فروری میں ہوگی، آئی سی سی کی سماعت کے بعد الزامات سے بری ہوجاوٴں گا، کرکٹ میں بہت جلد واپس آوٴں گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسپاٹ فکسنگ اسکینڈل پر میری کتاب جلد منظر عام پر آئے گی، کرکٹ کرپشن سے متعلق بیان عدالت میں دیا ہے، اسپاٹ فکسنگ میں اپنے ملک کے کچھ افراد کا بھی ہاتھ ہے۔صحافیوں کے سوالات کے جواب دیتے ہوئے آصف کا کہنا ہے کہکرکٹ میں واپس آکر ملک کا نام روشن کروں گا، عدالتی فیصلہ آنے سے پہلے ہی پابندی عائد کر دی گئی ، انٹرنیشنل کرکٹ کونسل نے مجھے پھنسایا، معاملہ ثالثی عدالت میں اٹھا چکا ہوں۔
