Heavy snowfall in northern areas

(eNews.pk) - PESHAWAR: rain and widespread snowfall claimed 33 lives, 25 of them in Khyber Pakhunkhwa in the country on Tuesday. In addition to the deaths, 40 people were injured across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas.




In some mountainous areas, people took refuge in mosques. The heavy downpour has whipped most of the country for two days. Seven people were reported killed in Jaswant Singh after roofs of several houses collapsed in. One person died and three were injured after the roof of a collapsed hotel in Pindi Bhattian.

اسلام آباد… شمالی علاقوں میں شدید برف باری کے باعث شہری گھروں میں محصور ہوکر رہ گئے ہیں، جبکہ خوراک کی قلت بھی پیدا ہوگئی ہے۔ دوسری طرف برفباری کے باعث مری اسلام آباد ایکسپریس وے پر شدید ٹریفک جام ہوگیا اور ہزاروں سیاح پھنس کر رہ گئے ہیں۔ محکمہ موسمیات کے مطابق آج بالائی پنجاب، خیبر پختونخوا، اسلام آباد، کشمیر اور گلگت بلتستان میں بارش اور پہاڑوں پر برف باری کا امکان ہے، مالم جبہ میں 10 فٹ تک برف پڑی، جبکہ سب سے زیادہ بارش راولا کوٹ میں 219 ملی میٹر ریکارڈ کی گئی۔
