ADB insists funding Diamir-Bhasha Dam

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday urged the ADB to be a principal financier of the proposed Diamer-Bhasha Dam.




He said that early termination of Diamer-Bhasha dam was crucial in view of its vitality in the diversification of the energy matrix, the production of cheap electricity to ensure smooth running of the business cycle and to improve water storage capacity as needed to ensure continued agricultural productivity.

اسلام آباد … صدر آصف علی زرداری نے کہا ہے کہ سستی بجلی کی فراہمی معیشت کا پہیہ درست چلانے اور پانی ذخیرہ کرنے کیلئے دیامر بھاشا ڈیم کی جلد تعمیر بہت اہم ہے۔ انہوں نے یہ بات ایوان صدر اسلام آباد میں ملاقات کرنے والے ایشیائی ترقیاتی بینک کے بورڈ آف ڈائریکٹرز کے وفد سے بات چیت میں کہی۔ صدر زرداری کا کہنا تھا کہ مستحکم معاشی ترقی اور غربت کے خاتمے کیلئے توانائی بحران پر قابو پانا ضروری ہے۔ صدر زرداری نے کہا کہ حکومت 4500 میگاواٹ بجلی کی پیداوار کے بھاشا ڈیم کے منصوبے کیلئے سیاسی عزم سمیت ہر ممکن وسائل مختص کر رہی ہے۔
