UN calls on Taliban to join peace process

(eNews.pk) - KABUL: United Nations envoy in Afghanistan on Wednesday called on the Taliban to join the peace process that most of NATO combat troops prepare to leave the country by the end of next year.




"My message to the insurgency is essentially a kind of long-term report: You are Afghans, care, I suppose, of their country, you care about the future of a peaceful stable country," Jan Kubis told a news conference.
He points out that "a strong motivation" for the uprising was the fight against international forces, Kubis said: "Please, take into account that this presence is coming to an end, and there will be no international fighting force at the end of 2014.

نیویارک.... اقوام متحدہ نے طالبان سے اپیل کی ہے کہ وہ افغانستان کے استحکام کے لئے امن عمل میں شریک ہوجائیں۔کابل میں پریس کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے افغانستان میں اقوام متحدہ کے نمائندے جان کو بس نے کہا کہ طالبان بھی افغانی ہیں ،انہیںچاہیے کہ وہ افغانستان کے استحکام میں اپنا کردار ادا کریں۔جان کوبس کا کہناتھاکہ آئندہ برس نیٹو فورسز افغانستان سے نکل جائیں گی۔انہوں نے افغان صدر حامد کرزئی کے دورہ قطر اور طالبان کی جانب سے قطر میں ممکنہ طور پر دفتر کھولنے کے اقدامات کو بھی سراہا۔ان کا کہنا تھا کہ طالبان افغانستان امن عمل میں شامل ہوجائیں۔
