Shuttle "Andrew" Lands in Los Angeles Museum

(eNews.pk) - Los Angeles: The U.S. space shuttle Endeavour took its last flight Wednesday, making a spectacular series of flypasts over California before landing in Los Angeles where he will retire near his birthplace.

Riding piggyback on a specially-equipped Boeing 747, the shuttle flew over San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge before heading south to take on the Hollywood sign and Disneyland, after landing at LA International Airport (LAX).

"It's so cool, and so sad," said Todd Unger, 28, among thousands who camped out the first few hours in the Griffith Observatory overlooking the city and the nearby iconic hilltop Tinseltown sign.

شٹل ’انڈریو‘ میوزیم کی زینت بنانے کیلئے لاس اینجلس پہنچا دی گئی

لاس اینجلس… امریکی خلائی شٹل ’اینڈریو‘ خلا میں 25 مشن پورے کرنے کے بعد اب میوزیم میں رکھی جائے گی۔ خلائی شٹل اینڈریو اب بن گئی ہے تاریخ کا حصہ اور بننے جا رہی ہے کیلیفورنیا کے سائنس میوزیم کی زینت۔ 75 ٹن وزنی خلائی شٹل اینڈریو کو لے کر جیٹ 747 جب لاس اینجلس پہنچا تو راستے بھر لوگوں کی بڑے تعداد کی نگاہیں اس کے دیدارمیں مصروف تھیں۔ شٹل کو لانے والے جیٹ طیارے نے نچلی پرواز کی تاکہ لوگ اسے اچھی طرح دیکھ سکیں۔ اینڈریو کی تخلیق ناسا کی 1986 میں حادثے کا سکار ہونے والی شٹل چیلنجر کے مقابلے میں کی گئی تھی۔ اینڈریو نے خلا بیس سالوں میں پچیس مشن مکمل کیے اور 299 دن خلا میں گزارے۔
