Indian call to end UN mission rejected

(eNews.pk) - UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations set aside a demand for India to end its military observer mission in Kashmir, Geo news reported Wednesday.




Martin Nesirky, spokesman for UN secretary general, said in a statement that the mandate of its military observers of the United Nations would continue to exist, and that only the Security Council could decide to end it.
He said the observer was fully active in Kashmir. Indian Envoy to the United Nations on Monday called for the end of its mission of UN observers, which monitors the ceasefire agreed between Pakistan and India in Jammu and Kashmir.

اقوام متحدہ…اقوام متحدہ نے کشمیر میں لائن آف کنٹرول پر فوجی مبصر مشن ختم کرنے سے متعلق بھارت کا مطالبہ مسترد کردیا ہے۔ یہ بات اقوام متحدہ کے سیکریٹری جنرل کے ترجمان مارٹن نیسرکی nesirky نے ایک بیان میں کہی۔ ترجمان نے کہا کہ صرف سلامتی کونسل کو ہی کشمیر کے متنازع خطے میں لائن آف کنٹرول پر سیز فائر کی نگرانی کرنے والے فوجی مبصرمشن کو ختم کرنے کا اختیار ہے۔ اس سے قبل اقوام متحدہ میں بھارت کے سفیر نے اقوام متحدہ کے امن مشنز سے متعلق ایک بحث کے دوران کشمیر میں تعینات فوجی مبصر مشن کی حیثیت کے بارے میں سوال اٹھایا تھا۔
