Contempt law: SC will take up petitions

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will have a number of identical petitions challenging the contempt of Court Act of 23 July 2012 and has posted notices to that effect to the federation and the attorney general.




President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday signed the contempt Bill 2012, into law after it was approved by the National Assembly and the Senate under Section 248 (1) of the Constitution to exempt all holders of public office , including the prime minister and other ministers, court proceedings on charges of contempt.

اسلام آباد… سپريم کورٹ نے توہين عدالت ايکٹ کيخلاف آئيني درخواستوں پرنوٹس جاري کرديے، درخواستوں کي سماعت23 جولائي کوہوگي .ترجمان سپريم کورٹ کے مطابق سپريم کورٹ نے توہين عدالت ايکٹ کيخلاف آئيني درخواستوں پرنوٹس جاري کرديے ہيں، توہين عدالت ايکٹ کے خلاف تمام درخواستيں يکجا کردي گئيں ہيں اورنوٹس وزير اعظم، چيئرمين سينيٹ، اسپيکر قومي اسمبلي کو نوٹس جاري کئے گئے. وفاقي وزير قانون اور سيکريٹري کيبنٹ ڈويژن کو بھي نوٹس جاري کردئے گئے ہيں.
