CIA chief David Petraeus resigned

(eNews.pk) - Washington: CIA Director David Petraeus stepped down Friday on an extramarital affair, thus abruptly ending the brilliant career that saw him serve as a military commander in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.




The revelation shocked Washington just three days after the re-election of U.S. President Barack Obama and shortly before Petraeus was to testify in the CIA's alleged failure to properly protect the U.S. consulate in Libya.
"After being married for over 37 years, I showed very poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair," Petraeus said in a message CIA employees released to the media.

واشنگٹن. . . .سی آئی اے چیف ڈیوڈ پیٹریاس نے جنسی بے راہ رو ی کے اعتراف کے بعد استعفیٰ دے دیا۔امریکی میڈیا کے مطابق ڈیوڈ پیٹریاس نے اپنے پیغا م میں کہا کہ وہ استعفیٰ ذاتی وجوہات کی بنا پر دے رہے ہیں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ جنسی تعلقات رکھنے کافیصلہ انتہائی غلط تھا۔ایک شوہراورایک آرگنائزیشن لیڈرکی حیثیت سے یہ رویہ ناقابل قبول ہے۔37 برس سے شادی شدہ ہوں ،ایسا نہیں کرنا چاہیے تھا۔حکام کے مطابق امریکی صدر بارک اوباما نے ڈیوڈ پیٹریاس کا استعفیٰ قبول کرلیاہے۔صدر اوباما کا کہنا تھا کہ ڈیوڈپیٹریاس نے کئی دہائیوں تک امریکا کی خدمت کی ۔
