امریکی سائنسدانوں نے اپنی تحقیق میں ٹماٹر کو دنیا کا سب سے صحت مند پھل قرار دے دیا ہے ۔ امریکی ویب سائیٹ میں شائع ہونے والی رپورٹ کے مطابق امریکی ماہرین کی تحقیق سے ثابت ہوتا ہے کہ ٹماٹر میں پایا جانے والا آکسیڈنٹ اور لائکوپین ہڈیوں کو مضبوط رکھنے میں فائدہ مند ثابت ہوتے ہیں۔ اس کے استعمال سے خواتین کو ہڈیوں اور جوڑوں کے درد کی شکایت نہیں ہوتی۔ ٹماٹر کا استعمال جسم میں کولیسٹرول کی سطح کو برقرار رکھتا ہے جس سے امراض قلب کے خدشات کم ہوتے ہیں اور بڑھتے ہوئے وزن کو قابو میں رکھتا ہے۔
