Mishal Malik, a human rights activist and wife of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, urged the international community to take note of the plight of those living in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who have been living in complete closings since August 5.

Speaking to a private news broadcaster, she reminded the international community to break its criminal silence and acknowledge the serious violations of human rights in occupied Kashmir.

Mishal Malik continued to strike the Modi-led Indian fascist government for its action of August 5 last year, when it lifted Kashmir’s special status and divided it into two union areas.

Mushaal said the Kashmir Valley has become an “open-air prison” due to communications outages and curfews. It was time for the international community to play a practical role for the people in occupied Kashmir.

She said that by observing August 5th as Youm e Istehsal, the Kashmiris would confirm their total rejection of Indian rule and reaffirm their promise to continue the liberation movement until it comes to a logical conclusion.

She expressed the hope that the United Nations, as a responsible institution, would save the oppressed people in occupied Kashmir and impress India to stop its state terrorism in the occupied territory.

She said a year has passed since the atrocities and exploitation of the Indians in Occupied Kashmir and the Kashmiris went through difficult times. You live in a prison like conditions.

She said we have had no contact with Yasin Malik in the past two months and the Indian authorities have completely deprived the Kashmiris of their fundamental rights, including religious rights. She said that all senior hurriyat executives are detained at home or in various prisons.

It asked India to lift communication restrictions and allow unhindered access to medical and other essential supplies.

“India could not weaken the IOC resistance leaders’ sense of freedom with such cheap tactics,” she added.

While welcoming the courage of Burhan Wani and his co-workers, she said that Kashmiri martyrdom would be a milestone in Kashmir’s struggle for freedom and entered a new era of the freedom movement.

She also thanked the government and the Pakistani people for their continued political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri cause.
