آسٹریلیا کے ساتھ ٹیسٹ میچ بورڈ کی رضامندی سے ملتوی: افغان کرکٹ بورڈ
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer Naseeb Khan has said that this year’s scheduled Test match between Afghanistan and Australia has been postponed with the consent of both the countries.
In an exclusive interview with Dawn News, Naseeb Khan said that after the change in Afghanistan and the coming to power of the Taliban, many institutions were shut down but cricket was still going on.
“Cricket is the only sport through which all like-minded Afghans can come together. They need peace after the war. Cricket is so obsessed in this country that war is not the way to go,” he said. Roka and we are on the list of the ten best teams in the world.
He sought the cooperation of other cricket boards of the world for the promotion of cricket in Afghanistan and development of infrastructure, saying that there is not a single cricket ground of international standard in Afghanistan at present and other teams do not come to our country.
He said that cricket could lead to unity among Afghans and through cricket diplomacy Afghanistan could establish friendly relations with the world.
He expressed satisfaction over Afghanistan’s performance in the T20 World Cup and said that despite defeats to Pakistan and India, the Afghan team was second in its group.
He said the decision to postpone the Test match with Australia was taken in consultation with the boards of both the countries and Afghan cricketers have been offered to play league cricket in Australia.
He said that earlier Australia had decided to cancel the Test match with Afghanistan but now both the boards have postponed the Test match in consultation.
It is to be noted that Australia has postponed the scheduled Test match against Afghanistan in Hobart this year due to the ban imposed by Afghanistan on women’s cricket.
“We are committed to promoting the sport for men and women in Afghanistan and around the world,” said a statement from Cricket Australia.
He said that due to the current uncertainty, Cricket Australia feels that the match should be postponed until the situation becomes clear.

ڈان نیوز کو خصوصی انٹرویو دیتے ہوئے نصیب خان کا کہنا تھا کہ افغانستان میں تبدیلی اور طالبان کے اقتدار میں آنے کے بعد بہت سے ادارے بند ہو گئے لیکن کرکٹ اب بھی جاری ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا، “کرکٹ واحد کھیل ہے جس کے ذریعے تمام ہم خیال افغان اکٹھے ہو سکتے ہیں۔ انہیں جنگ کے بعد امن کی ضرورت ہے۔ اس ملک میں کرکٹ کا اس قدر جنون ہے کہ جنگ کا راستہ نہیں ہے۔” روکا اور ہم دنیا کی دس بہترین ٹیموں کی فہرست میں شامل ہیں۔
انہوں نے افغانستان میں کرکٹ کے فروغ اور انفراسٹرکچر کی ترقی کے لیے دنیا کے دیگر کرکٹ بورڈز سے تعاون طلب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ افغانستان میں اس وقت بین الاقوامی معیار کا ایک بھی کرکٹ گراؤنڈ نہیں ہے اور دوسری ٹیمیں ہمارے ملک میں نہیں آتیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ کرکٹ افغانوں میں اتحاد کا باعث بن سکتی ہے اور کرکٹ ڈپلومیسی کے ذریعے افغانستان دنیا کے ساتھ دوستانہ تعلقات قائم کر سکتا ہے۔
انہوں نے ٹی ٹوئنٹی ورلڈ کپ میں افغانستان کی کارکردگی پر اطمینان کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان اور بھارت سے شکستوں کے باوجود افغان ٹیم اپنے گروپ میں دوسرے نمبر پر رہی۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ آسٹریلیا کے ساتھ ٹیسٹ میچ ملتوی کرنے کا فیصلہ دونوں ممالک کے بورڈز کی مشاورت سے کیا گیا ہے اور افغان کرکٹرز کو آسٹریلیا میں لیگ کرکٹ کھیلنے کی پیشکش کی گئی ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ اس سے قبل آسٹریلیا نے افغانستان کے ساتھ ٹیسٹ میچ منسوخ کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا تھا لیکن اب دونوں بورڈز نے مشاورت سے ٹیسٹ میچ ملتوی کر دیا ہے۔
واضح رہے کہ آسٹریلیا نے افغانستان کی جانب سے خواتین کرکٹ پر عائد پابندی کے باعث رواں برس ہوبارٹ میں افغانستان کے خلاف شیڈول ٹیسٹ میچ ملتوی کر دیا ہے۔
کرکٹ آسٹریلیا کی جانب سے ایک بیان میں کہا گیا ہے کہ “ہم افغانستان اور دنیا بھر میں مردوں اور خواتین کے کھیل کو فروغ دینے کے لیے پرعزم ہیں۔”
انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ غیر یقینی صورتحال کی وجہ سے کرکٹ آسٹریلیا کو لگتا ہے کہ صورتحال واضح ہونے تک میچ کو ملتوی کر دینا چاہیے۔
