کراچی میں اومیکرون ویرینٹ کا دوسرامشتبہ کیس رپورٹ
According to Sindh Health Department officials, the second case of Omicron variant of Corona virus has been recorded in Karachi.
The 35-year-old victim arrived in Karachi from the UK and tested positive for corona during random testing. Omicron infection was later confirmed in the infected person using genome sequencing.
However, after transferring the sick person from the airport to a private hotel on Shahra-e-Faisal, he escaped from the quarantine centers.
The security of the quarantine centers is the responsibility of the Home Department, police and the concerned deputy commissioner, who also said that 19 more people are currently detained in the hotel, but the responsible authorities have not yet provided security.
He claimed that due to lack of security, 38 people managed to escape from the quarantine. He added that the genomes of five of the 19 victims would be sequenced.
Pakistan has imposed travel bans on Category C nations as well as countries affected by the Omicron epidemic.

35 سالہ متاثرہ شخص برطانیہ سے کراچی پہنچا اور بے ترتیب ٹیسٹنگ کے دوران اس کا کورونا ٹیسٹ مثبت آیا۔ بعد میں جینوم کی ترتیب کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے متاثرہ شخص میں اومیکرون انفیکشن کی تصدیق ہوئی۔
تاہم بیمار شخص کو ایئرپورٹ سے شاہراہ فیصل پر واقع نجی ہوٹل میں منتقل کرنے کے بعد قرنطینہ مراکز سے فرار ہوگیا۔
قرنطینہ مراکز کی حفاظت محکمہ داخلہ، پولیس اور متعلقہ ڈپٹی کمشنر کی ذمہ داری ہے، جنہوں نے یہ بھی بتایا کہ ہوٹل میں اس وقت مزید 19 افراد زیر حراست ہیں، لیکن ذمہ دار حکام نے ابھی تک سیکیورٹی فراہم نہیں کی۔
انہوں نے دعویٰ کیا کہ سیکیورٹی کی کمی کے باعث 38 افراد قرنطینہ سے فرار ہونے میں کامیاب ہوئے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ 19 متاثرین میں سے پانچ کے جینوم ترتیب دیئے جائیں گے۔
پاکستان نے کیٹیگری سی کے زمرے میں آنے والی قوموں کے ساتھ ساتھ اومیکرون وباء سے متاثرہ ممالک پر سفری پابندیاں عائد کر دی ہیں۔
