Former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti was again placed under house arrest.

He made the announcement in a tweet on Twitter, along with photos of locked doors and security arrangements.

The Kashmiri leader said that besides him, his media adviser and another colleague had also been placed under house arrest.

Mufti further said that the Indian government has fallen into the abyss of inhumanity by using innocent civilians as human shields and then denying them the right to a dignified burial.

The former chief minister said that from the beginning his statement was based on lies to escape accountability.

In his tweet, he quoted Indian officials as saying that they did not want to be held accountable for their actions, so voices against such injustice and oppression were being suppressed.

It may be recalled that five people, including two alleged militants, were killed during a raid by the Indian Army in Srinagar on Monday night.

Police claimed that the civilians were killed in an exchange of fire between the Indian Army and the alleged militants, but eyewitnesses and the families of the civilians said that the Indian soldiers used them as human shields.
Indian authorities later buried the bodies secretly in a remote northwestern village under a policy introduced in 2020.

Dozens of relatives of the slain had protested in the central city yesterday and demanded that the bodies be returned to the authorities for burial.

The citizens were identified by the names of businessman Muhammad Altaf Bhatt and dental surgeon as well as real estate dealer Mudassar in which a video of Altaf Bhatt’s daughter went viral on social media in which the girl described the moments when she Her father’s murder was reported.

Relatives said that at least those who died should be respected and allowed to bury their loved ones in a dignified manner.

It may be recalled here that on August 5, 2019, after the special status of Occupied Kashmir was terminated by India, several political leaders of the Valley, including Mehbooba Mufti, were detained by the Indian government.

Mehbooba Mufti was kept under house arrest for 14 months after which she was released by the Indian authorities in October 2020. Mehbooba Mufti is one of the political leaders who are considered to be pro-India.
