یونیورسٹی کالج لندن کے ماہرین نے انٹرنیٹ اسپیڈ کا نیا ریکارڈ قائم کردیا
یونیورسٹی کالج لندن کے ماہرین نے آپٹیکل فائبر کے 178 ٹیرا بٹس فی سیکنڈ کی رفتار سے ڈیٹا منتقل کرکے انٹرنیٹ اسپیڈ کا نیا ریکارڈ قائم کردیا ہے۔ آسانی کےلیے یوں سمجھ لیجیے کہ اس رفتار پر 15 گیگابائٹس والی 1500 ویڈیوز صرف ایک سیکنڈ میں ڈاؤن لوڈ کی جاسکتی ہیں۔
آپٹیکل فائبر سے ڈیٹا منتقلی (ڈیٹا ٹرانسفر) کا سابقہ ریکارڈ 150.3 ٹیرابٹس فی سیکنڈ کا تھا جو 2018 میں جاپان میں قائم کیا گیا تھا۔ موجودہ ریکارڈ اس سے بھی تقریباً 18.5 فیصد زیادہ تیز رفتار ہے۔
اگرچہ یہ کامیابی تجرباتی اور محدود پیمانے پر حاصل کی گئی ہے لیکن ماہرین کا کہنا ہے کہ آپٹیکل فائبرز کے موجودہ انفرا اسٹرکچر میں معمولی اور کم خرچ تبدیلی کے بعد یہ ٹیکنالوجی بڑی سہولت سے انٹرنیٹ کو غیرمعمولی طور پر تیز رفتار بنا سکے گی۔
واضح رہے کہ اس وقت ڈاؤن لوڈنگ کے حوالے سے دنیا بھر میں براڈ بینڈ انٹرنیٹ کی اوسط رفتار 81.46 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ، جبکہ فور جی موبائل انٹرنیٹ کی اوسط رفتار 34.51 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ ہے۔ بطورِ مجموعی 110.9 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ کی ڈاؤن لوڈ اسپیڈ کے ساتھ متحدہ عرب امارات ساری دنیا میں پہلے نمبر پر ہے۔
موبائل انٹرنیٹ میں اوسطاً 17 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ ڈاؤن لوڈ اسپیڈ اور 11.40 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ اپ لوڈ اسپیڈ کے ساتھ پاکستان کا 112 واں نمبر، جبکہ براڈ بینڈ انٹرنیٹ میں اوسطاً 9.40 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ ڈاؤن لوڈ اسپیڈ اور 7.85 میگابٹس فی سیکنڈ کی اپ لوڈ اسپیڈ کے ساتھ 159 واں نمبر ہے۔

Experts at University College London have set a new Internet speed record by transferring data at a speed of 178 terabits per second. Simply put, at this speed, 1500 videos with 15 gigabytes can be downloaded in just one second.
The previous record for data transfer from optical fiber was 150.3 terabits per second, which was set in 2018 in Japan. The current record is about 18.5% faster than that.
