The ECP said that the inclusion of the word open voting is a violation of Article 226 of the Constitution. The Supreme Court has given a clear opinion in this regard in the case related to the presidential reference. If the bill is implemented, the powers of the ECP may be limited. Yes, before introducing the bill in the Senate, the matter should be brought to the notice of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The commission sent a letter to the secretary parliamentary affairs on June 17 expressing concerns. The ECP had issued a press release on June 15 after the meeting. The ECP reacted first in the media and later in the official correspondence.

ای سی پی نے کہا کہ کھلی رائے دہی کے لفظ کو شامل کرنا آئین کے آرٹیکل 226 کی خلاف ورزی ہے۔ سپریم کورٹ نے صدارتی ریفرنس سے متعلق کیس میں اس سلسلے میں واضح رائے دی ہے۔ اگر بل پر عمل درآمد ہوتا ہے تو ، ای سی پی کے اختیارات محدود ہوسکتے ہیں۔ ہاں ، سینیٹ میں بل پیش کرنے سے پہلے اس معاملے کو وزیر اعظم عمران خان کے دائرے میں لایا جانا چاہئے۔
