چینی کی قیمت 160 روپے فی کلو تک پہنچ گئی
The price of sugar has skyrocketed, with the wholesale price of sugar at Rs 150 per kg in most parts of the country and sugar at Rs 160 per kg in retail, which is not controlled by the government at any level.
The decline in local stocks put pressure on the price of sugar and the wholesale price of sugar in Lahore reached Rs 15,000 per 100 kg.
The price rate in Karachi is more or less the same, while in Peshawar, Rawalpindi and other parts of the country the situation is not different.
In Quetta, the price of sugar rose sharply by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 140 per kg instead of Rs 135.

Last week the price of sugar was Rs 125 per kg and in the previous week sugar was being sold at Rs 105 per kg. The price of sugar has increased by Rs 55 per kg in 15 days.
Explaining the rising prices, Punjab government officials said that two groups of sugar millers occupy a large part of the province (with an estimated stock of 80,000 tonnes of sugar), with both groups having 6 to 7 dealers. Together they create pressure in the market.
Although there are different types of imported sugar, buyers prefer local sugar because it is granular.
An official said that the Punjab government was caught between the court’s decision to stop the forcible removal of stocks of non-performing mills and the market situation.
According to the official, even if they behave like mills, the government cannot touch their stocks, so these groups are now making money by monopolizing the market.

Explaining another reason for the rising price of sugar, a wholesaler in Lahore said, “Sindh’s crop is harvested a month before Punjab, due to which Sindh’s sugar mills have to crush sugarcane a month before Punjab. Should do, but they haven’t done that yet.
He added that the Sindh government is still waiting for a response from stakeholders to start the crushing season, so a month of crushing has left the market, leaving the price of sugar, which was Rs 145 per kg last week, now in wholesale. 150 while in retail it has gone up to Rs. 160 per kg.

کراچی میں قیمتیں کم و بیش ایک جیسی ہیں جب کہ پشاور، راولپنڈی اور ملک کے دیگر حصوں میں بھی صورتحال مختلف نہیں ہے۔
کوئٹہ میں چینی کی قیمت 5 روپے فی کلو اضافے سے 135 روپے کی بجائے 140 روپے فی کلو ہوگئی۔
گزشتہ ہفتے چینی کی قیمت 125 روپے فی کلو تھی اور گزشتہ ہفتے چینی 105 روپے فی کلو فروخت ہو رہی تھی۔ چینی کی قیمت میں 15 دنوں میں 55 روپے فی کلو اضافہ ہوا ہے۔
بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتوں کی وضاحت کرتے ہوئے، پنجاب حکومت کے حکام نے کہا کہ شوگر ملرز کے دو گروپ صوبے کے ایک بڑے حصے پر قابض ہیں (ایک اندازے کے مطابق 80,000 ٹن چینی کے اسٹاک کے ساتھ)، دونوں گروپوں کے 6 سے 7 ڈیلرز ہیں۔ وہ مل کر مارکیٹ میں دباؤ پیدا کرتے ہیں۔
اگرچہ درآمد شدہ چینی کی مختلف اقسام ہیں، لیکن خریدار مقامی چینی کو ترجیح دیتے ہیں کیونکہ یہ دانے دار ہوتی ہے۔
ایک اہلکار نے بتایا کہ پنجاب حکومت نان پرفارمنگ ملوں کے سٹاک کو زبردستی ہٹانے سے روکنے کے عدالتی فیصلے اور مارکیٹ کی صورتحال کے درمیان پھنس گئی۔
اہلکار کے مطابق اگر وہ ملوں جیسا سلوک کریں تو بھی حکومت ان کے ذخیرے کو ہاتھ نہیں لگا سکتی، اس لیے یہ گروہ اب مارکیٹ پر اجارہ داری قائم کر کے پیسہ کما رہے ہیں۔
چینی کی بڑھتی ہوئی قیمت کی ایک اور وجہ بتاتے ہوئے لاہور کے ایک تھوک فروش نے کہا، “سندھ کی فصل پنجاب سے ایک ماہ پہلے کٹائی جاتی ہے، جس کی وجہ سے سندھ کی شوگر ملوں کو پنجاب سے ایک ماہ پہلے گنے کی کرشنگ کرنی پڑتی ہے۔ کرنا چاہئے، لیکن انہوں نے ابھی تک ایسا نہیں کیا۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ سندھ حکومت اب بھی کرشنگ سیزن شروع کرنے کے لیے اسٹیک ہولڈرز کے جواب کا انتظار کر رہی ہے، اس لیے کرشنگ کا ایک مہینہ مارکیٹ میں رہ گیا ہے، چینی کی قیمت جو گزشتہ ہفتے 145 روپے فی کلو تھی، اب ہول سیل میں رہ گئی ہے۔ 150 جبکہ ریٹیل میں یہ بڑھ کر روپے تک پہنچ گئی ہے۔ 160 فی کلو۔
