U.S. started openly oppose the pipeline project

(eNews.pk) - WASHINGTON: In his opposition Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project, the U.S. State Department said Wednesday that it is in the interest of Pakistan to avoid any activity that penalties may be imposed.




The State Department said it gave Pakistan with alternatives that would avoid any violation of the sanctions.
"We recognize that Pakistan has significant energy needs, but we do think there are other long-term solutions to the energy needs of Pakistan," said deputy spokesman Patrick Ventrell action.
"And that is why we helped as a government to contribute to the mitigation of energy crisis in Pakistan," he said.
"It is in their interest to avoid any activity subject to sanctions, and we believe that we offer and provide ... a better way to satisfy their energy requirements of the assistance we provide. "
Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday urged Pakistani President to visit to go ahead with a long overdue $ 7.5 billion gas pipeline project despite U.S. opposition.

واشنگٹن…امریکا نے پاک ایران گیس پائپ لائن منصوبے کی کھل کر مخالفت شروع کردی۔ امریکی محکمہ خارجہ کا کہنا ہے کہ پاکستان ایسی سرگرمیوں سے گریزکرے جو پابندیوں کی زد میں آسکتی ہوں۔واشنگٹن میں صحافیوں کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے امریکی محکمہ خارجہ کے ترجمان پیٹرک وینٹرل کا کہنا تھا کہ پاک ایران گیس پائپ لائن منصوبے کا جائزہ لے رہے ہیں۔ امریکا کو پاکستان کے توانائی بحران کا احساس ہے اور اس بحران سے نمٹنے کے لیے امریکا پاکستان سے تعاون کررہا ہے۔ پاکستان کو چاہیے کہ امریکی تعاون سے فائدہ اٹھائے۔ انھوں نے کہا کہ امریکی تعاون سے بننے والے ایک منصوبے سے 2013 تک پاکستان کو 900 میگا واٹ بجلی ملنے لگے گی جس سے 20 لاکھ افراد کو فائدہ ہوگا۔پیٹرک وینٹرل نے مزید کہا کہ افغانستان میں دیسی ساختہ بموں کا مسئلہ بھی پاکستان سے مذاکرات میں امریکا کی ترجیحات میں شامل ہے۔ افغانستان میں دیسی ساختہ بموں میں کیلشیئم امونیم نائٹریٹ استعمال ہوتی ہے۔امریکا نے کیلشیئم امونیم نائٹریٹ کی افغانستان برآمد پر پابندی کے معاملے پرحکومت پاکستان اور ایک نجی کمپنی سے مذاکرات کیے ہیں جس میں خاصی پیش رفت ہوئی ہے،تاہم امریکا مزید ٹھوس اقدامات چاہتا ہے۔
