Pakistani Peacekeepers Rescue Over 2000 People in Flood Hited Congo

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Pakistani peacekeepers have continued to aid the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and saved more than 2,000 people stuck in severe flooding.

Pakistani blue helmets, part of the UN mission in the Congo (MONUSCO), rescued more than 2,000 people when violent floods broke out in the Uvira region last week, wreaking havoc and damaging thousands of homes, and 75,000 locals, director general (DG), concerned) ISPR Maj. Gen. Babar Iftikhar said on Twitter

“Pakistani blue helmets, part of the UN mission in the Congo (MONUSCO), immediately rushed to the affected areas to save and relieve the local population. Rescue workers were immediately sent to different locations with paramedics and rescue equipment, ”said DG ISPR.

DG ISPR Maj. Gen. Iftikhar said: The peacekeepers were building a stone dam to control the flood, which was strong enough to move people and vehicles out of the affected area. Stranded people were provided with food and provided the necessary medical care.

Pakistani Blue Helmets, part of UN Mission in Congo (MONUSCO) immediately rushed to the affected areas for rescue and relief of local populace. Rescue parties were immediately dispatched with paramedics and rescue equipment to different locations. (2/4)

The efforts to rescue Pakistani troops have been widely recognized by the United Nations (UN).

The spokesman for the armed forces said Pakistan has more than 4,000 blue helmets used by the United Nations to maintain peace and stability around the world.

Troops also built a stone embankment to check flood water, which was strong enough to shift people & vehicles from affected area. Stranded people were served with food & provided necessary med care. Pakistani Peacekeepers’ rescue efforts have been widely acknowledged by UN. (3/4)

پاکستانی امن فوج نے کانگو سیلاب میں 2000 سے زائد افراد کو ریسکیو کیا

انٹر سروسز پبلک ریلیشنز (آئی ایس پی آر) نے کہا کہ پاکستانی امن فوجیوں نے کانگو (ڈی آر سی) کے عوام کی امداد جاری رکھی ہے اور دو ہزار سے زائد شدید سیلاب میں پھنسے ہوئے افراد کو بچایا ہے۔

ڈی جی آئی ایس پی آر میجر جنرل افتخار نے کہا: امن فوجی سیلاب پر قابو پانے کے لئے ایک پتھر کا ڈیم بنا رہے تھے ، جو لوگوں اور گاڑیوں کو متاثرہ علاقے سے باہر منتقل کرنے کے لئے کافی مضبوط تھا۔ پھنسے ہوئے لوگوں کو کھانا مہیا کیا گیا اور ضروری طبی امداد فراہم کی گئی۔
