Pakistan become 1st country in anti-pneumonia camp

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: With the introduction of a new vaccine to protect children against pneumonia, Pakistan became the first country in South Asia to introduce pneumococcal vaccine.




Pneumonia is a disease that takes the lives of about 1.3 million children around the world before their fifth birthday.
"As the first country in South Asia to introduce pneumococcal vaccine, Pakistan pledge to vaccinate all children against vaccine-preventable diseases should be appreciated," said UNICEF Pakistan Country representative Dan Rohrmann.








پاکستان نمونیا کیخلاف مہم چلانے والا جنوبی ایشیا کا پہلا ملک بن گیا


اسلام آباد … پاکستان نمونیا کی بیماری کے خلاف مہم شروع کرنے والا جنوبی ایشیا کا پہلا ملک بن گیا ہے، مہم کے دوران 55 لاکھ بچوں کو نمونیا سے بچاوٴ کیلئے ویکسین دی جائے گی۔ نمونیا کے خلاف مہم یونیسیف کے اشتراک سے شروع کی گئی ہے۔ اس ہفتے وسطی پنجاب میں جبکہ سال کے آخر میں سندھ اور آزاد کشمیر میں مہم کا آغاز ہوگا۔ یونیسیف کے ترجمان ذیشان سہیل کے مطابق ہر سال پاکستان میں 5 سال تک کی عمر کے 3 لاکھ 25 ہزار بچے جاں بحق ہوجاتے ہیں۔ ان میں سے 19 فیصد اموات کی وجہ نمونیا کی بیماری ہے۔
