مہنگائی کے خلاف ملک گیر مظاہرے
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition parties, and the People’s Party (PPP) staged anti-government demonstrations in various cities across the country.
The PDM had started its 15-day nationwide protest from Rawalpindi against the continuous rise in prices of petroleum products and food items. Will decide on the long march.
Addressing a protest rally at the Empress Market in Karachi, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, general secretary of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), said the protest against inflation and the current government was a public referendum.
He said that JUI-F stood with the poor, farmers and lawyers and the protest against inflation would continue.
It may be recalled that Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), had announced a nationwide protest from October 20.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri alleged that the whole country has been left at the mercy of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prime Minister Imran Khan used to say that he would commit suicide before going to the IMF. Had promised 10 million jobs but 16,000 people have been laid off in Islamabad.
He further said that people were being evicted from their homes in the name of encroachment in Karachi.
On the other hand, in Lahore, PML-N leader Saad Rafique while addressing a protest against inflation said that the people of the country are facing inflation, unemployment and lawlessness while state institutions are also in turmoil.
“Why are people starving?” He asked. Why are they committing suicide? Why are they cursing the government? This did not happen overnight, but was the result of targeting ‘elected representatives’.
He said that essential commodities have become not only expensive but also extremely expensive and also predicted another wave of inflation in the country as a result of recent talks with the IMF.
He alleged that the Prime Minister did not fulfill the promises made to the people and lied to them, you deceive them and make false promises, you are not capable of anything and you have destroyed the country. ۔
Similar demonstrations took place in Shangla, Bahawalpur and Kasur on Friday, according to videos shared from the PML-N’s Twitter account.
Meanwhile, PPP protested against rising inflation in Malir district of Karachi. Addressing the rally, Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab said that the rise in prices was due to incompetence of PTI government.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also joined the protest and while addressing the rally said that party workers have come together to show the mirror to the PTI government.
He slammed the government for imposing burden on the people of the country and said that protests were being staged in various cities against inflation on the instructions of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He said that PPP would come to power at the center and reduce the burden of inflation on the people.
“I remember Prime Minister Imran saying that the value of the dollar goes up, so it means that the rulers are thieves,” he said. “Now tell me, who is the real thief?”

کراچی کی ایمپریس مارکیٹ میں احتجاجی ریلی سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے جمعیت علمائے اسلام فضل (جے یو آئی-ایف) کے جنرل سیکرٹری مولانا عبدالغفور حیدری نے کہا کہ مہنگائی اور موجودہ حکومت کے خلاف احتجاج عوامی ریفرنڈم ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ جے یو آئی ف غریبوں ، کسانوں اور وکلاء کے ساتھ کھڑی ہے اور مہنگائی کے خلاف احتجاج جاری رہے گا۔
واضح رہے کہ جمعیت علمائے اسلام (جے یو آئی-ایف) کے سربراہ مولانا فضل الرحمان نے 20 اکتوبر سے ملک گیر احتجاج کا اعلان کیا تھا۔
مولانا عبدالغفور حیدری نے الزام لگایا کہ پورا ملک بین الاقوامی مالیاتی فنڈ (آئی ایم ایف) کے رحم و کرم پر چھوڑ دیا گیا ہے۔ وزیراعظم عمران خان کہتے تھے کہ وہ آئی ایم ایف کے پاس جانے سے پہلے خودکشی کر لیں گے۔ ایک کروڑ نوکریوں کا وعدہ کیا تھا لیکن اسلام آباد میں 16 ہزار لوگوں کو نوکری سے نکال دیا گیا ہے۔
ان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ کراچی میں تجاوزات کے نام پر لوگوں کو ان کے گھروں سے بے دخل کیا جا رہا ہے۔
دوسری جانب لاہور میں مسلم لیگ (ن) کے رہنما سعد رفیق نے مہنگائی کے خلاف احتجاج سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ملک کے عوام مہنگائی ، بے روزگاری اور لاقانونیت کا سامنا کر رہے ہیں جبکہ ریاستی ادارے بھی ابتری کا شکار ہیں۔
“لوگ بھوکے کیوں ہیں؟” اس نے پوچھا. وہ خودکشی کیوں کر رہے ہیں؟ وہ حکومت کو کیوں کوس رہے ہیں؟ یہ راتوں رات نہیں ہوا ، بلکہ ‘منتخب نمائندوں’ کو نشانہ بنانے کا نتیجہ تھا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ ضروری اشیاء نہ صرف مہنگی ہو گئی ہیں بلکہ انتہائی مہنگی بھی ہو گئی ہیں اور آئی ایم ایف کے ساتھ حالیہ مذاکرات کے نتیجے میں ملک میں مہنگائی کی ایک اور لہر کی پیش گوئی بھی کی ہے۔
انہوں نے الزام لگایا کہ وزیر اعظم نے عوام سے کیے گئے وعدے پورے نہیں کیے اور ان سے جھوٹ بولا ، آپ انہیں دھوکہ دیتے ہیں اور جھوٹے وعدے کرتے ہیں ، آپ کسی بھی چیز کے قابل نہیں ہیں اور آپ نے ملک کو تباہ کر دیا ہے۔ ۔
اسی طرح کے مظاہرے جمعہ کو شانگلہ ، بہاولپور اور قصور میں ہوئے ، ن لیگ کے ٹوئٹر اکاؤنٹ سے شیئر کی گئی ویڈیوز کے مطابق۔
دریں اثنا ، پیپلز پارٹی نے کراچی کے ضلع ملیر میں بڑھتی ہوئی مہنگائی کے خلاف احتجاج کیا۔ ریلی سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کراچی کے ایڈمنسٹریٹر مرتضیٰ وہاب نے کہا کہ قیمتوں میں اضافہ پی ٹی آئی حکومت کی نااہلی کی وجہ سے ہوا۔
وزیراعلیٰ سندھ مراد علی شاہ بھی احتجاج میں شامل ہوئے اور ریلی سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پارٹی کارکن پی ٹی آئی حکومت کو آئینہ دکھانے کے لیے اکٹھے ہوئے ہیں۔
انہوں نے حکومت کو ملک کے عوام پر بوجھ ڈالنے پر تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا اور کہا کہ پارٹی چیئرمین بلاول بھٹو زرداری کی ہدایات پر مہنگائی کے خلاف مختلف شہروں میں احتجاج کیا جا رہا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ پیپلز پارٹی مرکز میں برسر اقتدار آئے گی اور عوام پر مہنگائی کا بوجھ کم کرے گی۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھے وزیر اعظم عمران نے یہ کہتے ہوئے یاد کیا کہ ڈالر کی قیمت بڑھ جاتی ہے تو اس کا مطلب ہے کہ حکمران چور ہیں۔ “اب بتاؤ اصل چور کون ہے؟”
