Microsoft has been using Intel processors for its devices and Microsoft Azure.

Intel is a ruler in terms of chipsets for Azure and Surface devices, including PCs and laptops, but things are about to change, as Microsoft reportedly relies on ARM to compete with its biggest rivals. Is planning to make silicon chips like Apple

The company is now bringing its ARM-based processors to Microsoft’s Azure cloud services and Surface laptops.

Frank Shaw, Microsoft’s head of communications, said:

“Because silicon is a foundational building block for technology, we’re continuing to invest in our own capabilities in areas like design, manufacturing and tools, while also fostering and strengthening partnerships with a wide range of chip providers”

The company recently signed deals with Qualcomm and AMD to acquire the Surface Pro X, Surface Laptop 3 and other device chips, indicating the company’s plans to leave Intel. If this plan proves to be correct, it will be a huge challenge for Intel, especially Intel’s server chips.
