LG polls in Punjab: PPP & PML-N face to face

(eNews.pk) - LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (N) have once again face-to-face on the issue of Local Government elections, Geo news reported Wednesday.




The PML-N leadership has called unconstitutional when writing the letter to the governor of Punjab Chief Minister for holding elections and LG will soon come to a sharp response.
President Asif Ali Zardari's announcement regarding the participation LG polls prior to the general elections has led to a new debate among the political parties.
The Chief Election Commissioner has called a meeting on 6 September in this regard.
The opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz went to the extent of demanding the Punjab government to announce the holding of LG elections immediately or else a strong protest campaign will be launched against the provincial government.

لاہور…پنجاب میں بلدیاتی انتخابات کے مسئلے پربھی پیپلز پارٹی اور مسلم لیگ ن خم ٹھونک کرآمنے سامنے آ گئے، ن لیگی قیادت کا کہنا ہے کہ بلدیاتی الیکشن کیلئے گورنر کا وزیراعلیٰ کو خط غیر آئینی ہے، جلد منہ توڑ جواب دیا جائیگا۔عام انتخابات سے پہلے بلدیاتی انتخابات صدر آصف زرداری کے اعلان نے سیاسی جماعتوں میں نئی بحث چھیڑ دی۔چیف الیکشن کمیشن نے بھی چھ ستمبر کو اجلاس طلب کر لیا ، پنجاب اسمبلی میں اپوزیشن لیڈر راجہ ریاض نے تو یہاں تک کہہ دیا کہ پنجاب میں بلدیاتی الیکشن کا فوری اعلان کیا جائے ورنہ بھر پور احتجاجی مہم چلائی جائے گی ۔حکومت پنجاب نے ایک جانب بلدیاتی انتخابات کیلیے صوبائی اسمبلی میں لوکل گورنمنٹ بل 2012ء پیش کر دیاجبکہ یہ موقف بھی اپنا رکھا ہے کہ بلدیاتی انتخابات عام انتخابات کے بعد ہونگے۔بلدیاتی انتخابات کیلیے گورنر پنجاب کے وزیر اعلیٰ کولکھے خط کو صوبائی وزیر قانون نے توغیر آئینی قراردیدیا۔الیکشن کمیشن ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ ادارہ قومی صوبائی اور بلدیاتی انتخابات کیلیے تیار ہے،دوسری جانب پیپلز پارٹی عام انتخابات سے قبل بلدیاتی انتخابات چاہتی ہے لیکن مسلم لیگ ن اسے قبل از انتخابات دھاندلی کا نام دے رہی ہے۔
