صحافیوں کا میڈیا ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے خلاف پارلیمنٹ کے سامنے دھرنا

Journalists has started a strong campaign against strict rules from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA) and startd a sit-in in front of parliament.

In Islamabad, officials and workers of journalists’ organizations across the country are participating in the protest against the establishment of the Media Development Authority.

The political parties and leader of the opposition as well as lawyers, sacked government employees, human rights activists and civil society representatives also joined hands with journalists.

Journalists, sacked government employees, lawyers and human rights activists staged a rally from the Islamabad Press Club to Parliament House against the establishment of the Media Development Authority and government policies against freedom of expression.

Protesters chanted anti-government slogans, calling the government’s policies anti-labor.

Leaders of opposition parties addressed the protest and sharply criticized the government’s unilateral policies.

The protesters announced that they would hold a sit-in until the controversial laws were withdrawn.

Leaders of journalists’ organizations have also announced protests during the president’s address to a joint sitting of parliament on Monday.

It is noteworthy that in order to control the media, the government had announced the introduction of a new law called the Pakistan Development Authority, which proposes stricter rules regarding media institutions and journalists.

صحافیوں نے پاکستان میڈیا ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (پی ایم ڈی اے) کے لیے پاکستان تحریک انصاف (پی ٹی آئی) کی حکومت سے سخت قوانین کے خلاف ایک مضبوط مہم شروع کی ہے اور پارلیمنٹ کے سامنے دھرنا شروع کر دیا ہے۔

اسلام آباد میں میڈیا ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے قیام کے خلاف احتجاج میں ملک بھر کی صحافی تنظیموں کے عہدیدار اور کارکن شرکت کر رہے ہیں۔

سیاسی جماعتوں اور قائد حزب اختلاف کے ساتھ ساتھ وکلاء ، برطرف سرکاری ملازمین ، انسانی حقوق کے کارکن اور سول سوسائٹی کے نمائندوں نے بھی صحافیوں سے ہاتھ ملایا۔

صحافیوں ، برطرف سرکاری ملازمین ، وکلاء اور انسانی حقوق کے کارکنوں نے میڈیا ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے قیام اور آزادی اظہار کے خلاف حکومتی پالیسیوں کے خلاف اسلام آباد پریس کلب سے پارلیمنٹ ہاؤس تک ریلی نکالی۔

مظاہرین نے حکومت مخالف نعرے لگائے اور حکومت کی پالیسیوں کو مزدور مخالف قرار دیا۔

اپوزیشن جماعتوں کے رہنماؤں نے احتجاج سے خطاب کیا اور حکومت کی یکطرفہ پالیسیوں پر شدید تنقید کی۔

مظاہرین نے اعلان کیا کہ وہ اس وقت تک دھرنا دیں گے جب تک متنازعہ قوانین واپس نہیں لیے جاتے۔

صحافیوں کی تنظیموں کے رہنماؤں نے پیر کو پارلیمنٹ کے مشترکہ اجلاس سے صدر کے خطاب کے دوران احتجاج کا اعلان بھی کیا ہے۔

قابل ذکر ہے کہ میڈیا کو کنٹرول کرنے کے لیے حکومت نے پاکستان ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے نام سے ایک نیا قانون متعارف کرانے کا اعلان کیا تھا جس میں میڈیا اداروں اور صحافیوں کے حوالے سے سخت قوانین تجویز کیے گئے تھے۔
