Danish Siddiqui, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian photojournalist, killed in a clash between the Afghan army and the Taliban in Kandahar.

In Delhi, his father, Professor Akhtar Siddiqui, confirmed this in an interview. He added that Danish had gone to Afghanistan for coverage about ten days ago. He was very committed to his work. He always said that the society has given him this position, so it is also his responsibility to convey the truth and reality in the society with utmost honesty.
In response to a question, Professor Akhtar said, “What more can I say than that he was doing his job there. The Danish had reported from Afghanistan before and also from Iraq and Myanmar.

Danish Siddiqui was killed in the same area in the Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province, which the Taliban claimed control of two days ago. This area is located near the border with Pakistan and is very important from a defense point of view.
That is why Afghan forces allegedly attacked the Chaman border crossing, where fierce fighting with the Taliban continues. Several senior Afghan army officers were also killed during the fighting.
“Danish was an excellent journalist. A dutiful husband and father, as well as a very dear friend. We are with his family in this difficult time,” Reuters President Michael Friedenberg said in a statement. Has also expressed deep shock and grief over his death.
Danish Siddiqui was considered one of the best photojournalists in the world. He covered major global events such as the Mosul war against ISIS in Iraq, the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar, the protests in Hong Kong, the earthquake in Nepal and the riots in Delhi.
Hundreds of his paintings have been acclaimed worldwide. He was also awarded prizes and awards. He is said to have been a photographer who filled his pictures with intense images, silent screams and the colors of life.
Danish graduated from the Department of Mass Communication at the renowned Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi. His father Akhtar Siddiqui himself has been a university professor.
