Asim Saleem Bajwa, special assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Chairman of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said Monday that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement regarding the resumption of construction of the diamer Bhasha Dam was historic.
Bajwa said that the project will prove beneficial for generations after completion, adding that the announcement will also boost the economy in several ways and is a positive sign of the country’s future.
He indicated that the dam will produce 4,500 megawatts of electricity once it is completed, and from day one of construction to completion, and beyond that, 16,500 people will work on the project and find a way to make money.
The minister also said that the project will help irrigate hundreds of thousands of acres of land in Pakistan, which will help Pakistan with its agricultural needs.
In conclusion, SAPM Asim Saleem Bajwa said the project would also reduce the load on the Tarbela dam and extend its life by at least 35 years.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered Monday to start construction for the Diamer Bhasha Dam , which had been pending for several reasons for various reasons.
PM Imran Khan was informed about the progress of the construction work on the Diamer Bhasha dam. Construction of the dam will create 16,500 jobs, while local industry will be promoted after the use of cement and steel.
The Prime Minister was satisfied with the progress of the dam construction and ordered the construction work to be resumed immediately. He added that the federal government had given priority to securing water resources and that building dams in Pakistan would also help the government overcome the electricity crisis.

انہوں نے اشارہ کیا کہ ایک بار مکمل ہونے والا یہ ڈیم 4،500 میگا واٹ بجلی پیدا کرے گا ، اور تعمیراتی کام کے پہلے دن سے اس کی تکمیل تک اور اس سے آگے ، 16،500 افراد اس منصوبے پر کام کریں گے اور پیسہ کمانے کا راستہ تلاش کریں گے۔
وزیر نے یہ بھی کہا کہ اس منصوبے سے پاکستان میں لاکھوں ایکڑ اراضی کو سیراب کرنے میں مدد ملے گی جس سے پاکستان کو اس کی زرعی ضروریات میں مدد ملے گی۔
آخر میں ، ایس اے پی ایم عاصم سلیم باجوہ نے کہا کہ اس منصوبے سے تربیلا ڈیم پر بوجھ بھی ہلکا ہوگا اور اس کی عمر میں کم از کم 35 سال کا اضافہ ہوگا۔
