Degree Verification: Given deadline to MPs ends

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: The degrees of only 27 of the 249 members of Parliament have been verified as Electoral Commission deadline ended Friday.




The ECP on February 7 had established 15 days after the completion of the 249 parliamentarians to earn their degrees verified by the Commission on Higher Education. It had been said that the title would be considered false if MPs did not respond to the decision of ECP.
Sources told Geo news that at least 40 members of parliament and approached responded positively to the HEC for verification. According to sources, the degrees of 27 legislators, including Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Humayun Saifullah Khan, Mehreen Razaq Bhutto, Begam Nasim Akhtar Chaudhry Muhammad Tariq Khattak, Jameela Gilani, Bushra Rehman and Engineer Usman.

اسلام آباد…گریز کی تصدیق کے لیے الیکشن کمیشن کی ارکان پارلیمنٹ کو دی گئی ڈیڈ لائن ختم ہو گئی ۔ 249 ارکان پارلے منٹ میں سے صرف 27 کی اسناد کی تصدیق ہوئی ، باقی 222کی نہیں ہو پائی۔ الیکشن کمیشن نے 7 فروری 2013 کو249 ارکان پارلیمنٹ کو 15 روز میں ایچ ای سی سے اپنی ڈگریوں کی تصدیق کرانے کی ہدایت کی تھی۔الیکشن کمیشن نے ارکان پارلیمنٹ کو لکھے گئے خط میں کہا تھا کہ 15دنوں میں تصدیق نہ کرانے والوں کی اسناد جعلی تصور کی جائیں گی۔ ذرائع نے جیو نیوز کو بتایا کہ ڈگریزکی تصدیق کے لیے 40 ارکان پارلیمنٹ نے ہائیر ایجوکیشن کمیشن سے رجوع کیا۔ چودھری وجاہت حسین ، ہمایوں سیف اللہ خان ، مہرین رزاق بھٹو ، بیگم نسیم اختر چودھری ،محمد طارق خٹک ، جمیلہ گیلانی ، بشری رحمان ، انجینئر عثمان سمیت 27 ارکان کی ڈگریوں کی تصدیق ہو گئی ہے۔گورنر خیبر پختونخوا شوکت اللہ نے بھی ایچ ای سی سے اپنی ڈگری کی تصدیق کرائی ہے جب کہ باقی 222 ارکان پارلیمنٹ کی اسناد کی تصدیق نہیں ہو پائی۔
