US to sell Saudi fighter jets: White House

(eNews.pk) - HONOLULU: The White House said on Thursday a $29.4 billion deal to sell Boeing-made fighter jets to Saudi Arabia's air force would support more than 50,000 US jobs and give the American economy a $3.5 billion annual boost.




White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the government to government deal included production of 84 new aircraft and upgrades to 70 existing aircraft as well as munitions, spare parts, training, maintenance and logistics.
"This agreement reinforces the strong and enduring relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia, and demonstrates the US commitment to a strong Saudi defense capability as a key component to regional security," Earnest said in a statement from Hawaii, where President Barack Obama is vacationing.

ریاض ... سعودی عرب نے امریکا سے قریبا 30 ارب ڈالر مالیت کے لڑاکا طیارے خریدلیے ہیں جن میں 84 ایڈوانس ایف 15بھی شامل ہیں۔ڈیل سے امریکامیں 50ہزار نوکریاں پیدا ہوں گی۔انتیس اعشاریہ 4ارب ڈالر مالیت کی اس ڈیل کااعلان امریکا کے محکمہ خارجہ نے کیا ہے۔جن میں 70 پرانے ایف 15 طیاروں کو جدید بنانے کامعاہدہ بھی شامل ہے۔محکمہ خارجہ کے سیاسی وفوجی امور کے بیوروکے سربراہ اینڈریو شپیرو نے بتایاکہ یہ معاہدہ سعودی عرب کے لیے خطے کی سیکیورٹی کے لحاظ سے کلیدی حیثیت کا حامل ہے۔ان کاکہناہے کہ خطے کو جن خطرات کاسامنا ہے ان میں سے ایک ایران ہے
