U.S ready for talk with N. Korea: John Kerry

(eNews.pk) - TOKYO: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday stressed the United States is willing to engage with North Korea as long as you endeavor to give up nuclear weapons.




He also promised Washington would protect its Asian allies against any acts of provocation by the North, but he said he wants a peaceful solution to the growing tension in the region.
"We are ready to get in touch, but we need (a) the appropriate time, the circumstance of the case," Kerry told a small group of reporters, adding that North Korea had to take steps toward giving its nuclear programs.
"They need to take some actions. Now, how many and how much I want to have a discussion with the folks back in Washington (about) ... but must act," he added.
The North has threatened for weeks to attack the United States, South Korea and Japan by new UN sanctions were imposed in response to its latest nuclear test weapons in February. Speculation has mounted the launch of a new missile or nuclear test.

ٹوکیو…امریکی وزیر خارجہ جان کیری نے کہا ہے کہ امریکا شمالی کوریا کے ساتھ مذاکرات کے لئے تیار ہے۔ ٹوکیو میں ایک تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ امریکا شمالی کوریا کے ساتھ قابل اعتبار اور بامقصد مذاکرات چاہتا ہے۔ جان کیری کا کہنا تھا کہ شمالی کوریا کو اپنی بین الاقوامی ذمہ داریاں پوری کرنے کے لئے بامعنی اقدامات کرنے چاہئیں۔ امریکی وزیر خارجہ نے کہا کہ شمالی کوریا کا خطرناک ایٹمی میزائل پروگرام نہ صرف پڑوسی ممالک بلکہ شمالی کوریا کے اپنے عوام کے لئے بھی خطرہ ہے۔
