US 'can't dictate' to the world: Pentagon's chief

(eNews.pk) - WASHINGTON: America can not "dictate to the world" and must work with allies and build relationships with other nations, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said shortly after being sworn in Wednesday as the new head of the Pentagon.




On his first day on the job, Hagel strengthened its reputation as reluctant warrior he told an audience of military and civilian officials that America is a powerful country but could not achieve its objectives without forging strong alliances.
"I've always believed that America's role in the world ... was the one who must engage in the world. We can not dictate to the world. But we must engage in the world," Hagel .
"No nation, however large that America can do on their own. We must continue to build on the strong relationships we have established. "








دوسرے ملکوں پر حکم نہیں چلا سکتے، امریکی وزیر دفاع


واشنگٹن....امریکا کے نئے وزیر دفاع چک ہیگل نے حلف اٹھانے کے بعد کہا ہے کہ امریکا دنیا پر حکم نہیں چلا سکتا۔64 برس کے سابق ری پبلکن سینیٹر ہیگل کو سینیٹ میں وزیردفاع کی حیثیت سے 41 کے مقابلے میں 58 ووٹوں سے منظوری دی گئی۔انہوں نے لیون پنیٹا کی جگہ منصب سنبھالا ہے۔ پینٹاگان کے اسٹاف سے بات کرتے ہوئے ہیگل کا کہنا تھا کہ امریکا جیسا طاقتور ملک بھی تنہا کچھ نہیں کرسکتا،اسے دیگر ممالک کے ساتھ تعلقات مزید مستحکم کرنے ہوں گے۔ چک ہیگل نے ایسے وقت وزارت دفاع سنبھالی ہے جب پینٹاگان سے ہزاروں سویلین ملازمین کو بجٹ کٹنے کے سبب یکم مارچ سے نکالا جارہاہے۔ہیگل کا کہنا تھاکہ وزارت دفاع کو اس حقیقت کا سامنا کرنا ہوگا۔
