Spain charges two Chechen Qaeda suspects

(eNews.pk) - MADRID: A Spanish judge on Sunday accused Chechen two members of Al-Qaeda with membership in a terrorist group and possession of bomb-making material, officials said.




The two men were arrested Wednesday when they went on a bus from the French border. Another man, a Turk, was arrested in an apartment in the southern province of Andalusia, where police discovered explosives.
Judge Pablo Ruz, who ordered the two Chechens jailed pending trial, based their decisions on information provided by the U.S., French, Russian and the Gibraltar authorities.
He said he could see the connections between the Chechens and other people under investigation for ties to terrorist groups.
