قومی اسمبلی میں قائد حزب اختلاف اور پیپلز پارٹی کے رہنما سید خورشید شاہ کہتے ہیں کہ ملک میں اسی وقت مڈٹرم انتخابات ہوسکتے ہیں جب نوازشریف مستعفی ہوجائیں لیکن چند لوگوں کی خواہش یا ڈنڈے کے زور پرایسا نہیں ہوسکتا۔ کوئٹہ میں پریس کانفرنس کے دوران خورشید شاہ نے کہا کہ انتخابات سے قبل نوازشریف نے ملک سے بجلی کی لوڈشیڈنگ اور مہنگائی کے خاتمے سمیت ایسے بلند و بانگ دعوے کئے جو ناممکن تھے اور انہوں نے ایسا صرف حکومت حاصل کرنے کے لئے کیا
