Meeting on Hydro-Electric chaired by Ahmed Mukhtar

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) was asked to undertake 665 MW and 496 MW Lower Pallas Valley Lower Spat Gah hydropower projects in Public Private Partnership mode and complete the formalities to carry out projects within the smallest possible time frame.




This was decided at a meeting here Wednesday with Minister of Water and Energy Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar in the chair, said a press release issued here.
The Minister in his opening speech said that the government is now focusing on hydel power cheaper and affordable electricity for consumers to generate.
Both projects would help to meet future demand. He said that the government is taking initiatives to develop their own energy resources, because the future production would be based on hydel, solar, wind and coal resources.
The investors would be facilitated and extend full cooperation to ensure the investment in the energy sector to attract.

اسلام آباد…وزير پاني و بجلي چوہدري احمد مختار نے پرائيويٹ پاور اينڈ انفراسٹرکچر بورڈ کو ہدايت کہ خيبر پختوخواہ ميں ايک ارب 46کروڑ ڈالر لاگت سے 1161ميگاواٹ صلاحيت کے دو پن بجلي منصوبوں پر جلد کام شروع کرے ،دونوں منصوبے نجي شعبے کي شراکت سے مکمل کيئے جائيں گے .وزارت پاني و بجلي کے اعلاميئے کے مطابق وزير پاني و بجلي چوہدري احمد مختار کي صدارت ميں پن بجلي منصوبوں پر اجلاس، جس ميں پرائيويٹ پاور اينڈ انفراسٹرکچر بورڈ کو ہدايت کي گئي کہ صوبہ خيبر پختونخواہ ميں 665ميگاواٹ کے لوئر پالس اور 496ميگاواٹ کے لوئر سپاٹ گاہ پن بجلي منصوبوں کو جلد شروع کيا جائے دونوں منصوبے ضلع کوہستان ميں دريائے سندھ ميں گرنے والي نديوں پر ہيں،دونوں منصوبوں پر لاگت کا مجموعي تخمينہ ايک ارب 46کروڑ ڈالر ہے، اجلاس ميں ايم ڈي پي پي آئي بي نے بتايا کہ منصوبوں کي فنڈنگ واپڈا ، خيبر پختونخواہ حکومت اور کورين کمپنياں کريں گي، اجلاس سے خطاب ميں وزير پاني و بجلي نے کہا کہ حکومت اب سستي بجلي کے حصول کيلئے پن بجلي کے منصوبوں کو خصوصي ترجيح دے رہي ہے ،منصوبے کي فنڈنگ واپڈا ، کے پي کے اور کورين کمپنياں کريں گي.
