Burma's parliament removed 9 judges

(eNews.pk) - Yangoon: All nine judges on the presidential nominee Myanmar Constitution Tribunal abruptly resigned Thursday after the lower house of parliament voted to accuse them in a stalemate within the nascent Government of Myanmar.




The redundancies were announced by the office of President Thein Sein's, state television reported Thursday evening, after two-thirds of the House had voted earlier in the day for the judges' impeachment.
The dispute is seen as evidence of the maturing of democracy in Myanmar, but also as a reflection of the struggle for power within the ruling party.
Thein Sein recently reshuffled his cabinet in what was widely seen as an attempt to consolidate his power after initially coming to office in March 2011. He is a former general and his government is dominated by members of the army who had ruled the country since a 1962 coup.

ینگون… برما کی پارلیمنٹ نے آئینی عدالت کی طرف سے سیاسی اصلاحات کے راستے میں رکاوٹیں کھڑی کرنے کے الزام میں تمام نو ججوں کا مواخذہ کر کے ان کے عہدوں سے برخاست کر دیا ہے۔ برما میں جمہوریت کی بحالی کے بعد پارلیمنٹ اور عدلیہ میں سیاسی اصلاحات پر اختلافات پائے جاتے تھے اور اعلیٰ عدلیہ پر الزام لگایا جا رہا تھا کہ وہ سیاسی اصلاحات کے راستے میں روڑے اٹکا رہی ہے۔برما کی اعلی عدلیہ اور پارلیمنٹ میں اس وقت ٹھن گئی تھی جب عدالت نے اس سال مارچ میں یہ حکم دیا کہ پارلیمنٹ کی کمیٹیوں کے پاس حکومتی وزراء کو طلب کرنے کے اختیارات نہیں ہیں۔ برما کی عالمی شہرت یافتہ جمہوریت حامی رہنما آنگ سان سو چی کی جماعت نے بھی ججوں کے مواخدے کی حمایت کی ہے۔ پارلیمنٹ کے ایوان زیریں کے دو تہائی اراکین نے ججوں کے مواخذے کی حمایت کی۔ پارلیمنٹ کا ایوان بالا ایک ماہ پہلے ہی ججوں کے مواخذے کو منظور کر چکا تھا۔
