Army deployment starts for voters verification

(eNews.pk) - KARACHI: The deployment of the army and paramilitary troops for door-to-door verification of voters in Karachi begin today (Wednesday), Geo news.




According to a notice issued by the Minister of Defence, the army would provide security to the staff of the Electoral Commission during the verification process.
Defence Ministry sources said the army and the paramilitary Frontier Corps and Rangers would be deployed from Wednesday.
Sources said that the Minister of Defense is required to submit a formal request to the Ministry of Defense for the deployment of troops.
The door-to-door verification of voters was ordered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

کراچی … کراچی میں گھر گھر ووٹرز کی تصدیق کیلئے فوج اور دیگر فورسز کی تعیناتی آج شروع ہوگی، فوج الیکشن کمیشن کے عملے کو صرف سیکیورٹی فراہم کرے گی، تصدیق کا کام الیکشن کمیشن کا عملہ خود کرے گا، اس سلسلے میں وزارت دفاع سے نوٹی فکیشن جاری کردیا ہے، جس کے مطابق فوج اور تمام فورسز کراچی میں ووٹرز کی تصدیق کیلئے الیکن کمیشن کے عملے کو محفوظ ماحول فراہم کرنے کی ذمہ دار ہوں گی۔ جبکہ انتخابی فہرستوں کی تصدیق کی ذمہ داری الیکشن کمیشن کی ہوگی۔ وزارت دفاع کے ذرائع کے مطابق فوج، رینجرز، ایف سی اور پولیس کراچی میں آج سے تعینات ہو گی جو کراچی کے پانچوں اضلاع میں انتخابی فہرستوں کی تصدیق مکمل ہونے تک رہے گی۔ ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ وزارت دا خلہ کو فورسز کی تعیناتی کیلئے وزارت دفاع کو باضابطہ درخواست بھیجنے کا بھی کہا گیاہے۔
