Wheat Smuggling: Sindh Decided to Close the Border with Balochistan

The government of Sindh decided to seal its border with Baluchistan to stop the smuggling of wheat from the province.

According to sources, the Sindh Food Department has written to the Home Office to close the border in accordance with the Food Act. The decision was made after approval by the Sindh cabinet.

The government of Sindh has set a target of 1.4 million tons of wheat for the current harvest. The Sindh Food Department has issued strict instructions to regional deputy directors, district food inspectors, and other employees concerned to achieve the goal.

Wheat procurement began on March 26 and 40% of the target has been achieved so far. The Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah is not yet satisfied with the department’s performance.

ذرائع کے مطابق سندھ کے محکمہ خوراک نے فوڈ ایکٹ کے تحت سرحد کی بندش کے لئے وزارت داخلہ کو تحریری طور پر استدعا کی ہے ، یہ فیصلہ سندھ کابینہ کی منظوری کے بعد لیا گیا۔

حکومت سندھ نے موجودہ فصل کے لئے 1.4 ملین ٹن گندم کی خریداری کا ہدف مقرر کیا ہے ، محکمہ خوراک سندھ نے ریجنل ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹرز ، ضلعی فوڈ کنٹرولرز اور دیگر متعلقہ عملے کو ہدف پورا کرنے کے لئے سخت ہدایات جاری کیں۔

گندم کی خریداری 26 مارچ سے شروع ہوئی تھی اور اب تک 40 فیصد کا ہدف حاصل ہوچکا ہے۔ سید مراد علی شاہ سندھ کے وزیر اعلی اب تک محکمہ کی کارکردگی سے خوش نہیں ہیں۔
