US dollar broke all previous records in the country

امریکی ڈالر نے ملک میں تمام سابقہ ریکارڈ توڑ دیئے

The US dollar broke all previous records in the country and reached an all-time high.

The rupee continued to depreciate in both the interbank and open market on Tuesday.

In the interbank market, the dollar rose by 90 paise to Rs 168.99. This is the highest level in history. The last time the dollar was traded was at Rs 168.42 in August 2020.

The rupee continues to be volatile despite remittances from overseas Pakistanis reaching a 10-year high. External payments, rising imports have kept the rupee weak, while uncertainty about the economic future has also boosted demand for the dollar.
The country’s record imports and the historic current account deficit are also affecting the value of the rupee.

It may be recalled that in the interbank market yesterday, the dollar rose by 7 paise to Rs 168.09 while in the open currency market, the dollar rose by 30 paise to close at Rs 169.

منگل کو انٹر بینک اور اوپن مارکیٹ دونوں میں روپے کی قدر میں کمی جاری رہی۔

انٹربینک مارکیٹ میں ڈالر 90 پیسے بڑھ کر 168.99 روپے پر پہنچ گیا۔ یہ تاریخ کی بلند ترین سطح ہے۔ آخری بار ڈالر کا سودا اگست 2020 میں 168.42 روپے پر ہوا تھا۔

بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کی جانب سے 10 سال کی بلند ترین سطح پر پہنچنے کے باوجود روپیہ غیر مستحکم ہے۔ بیرونی ادائیگیوں ، بڑھتی ہوئی درآمدات نے روپے کو کمزور رکھا ہے جبکہ معاشی مستقبل کے بارے میں غیر یقینی صورتحال نے ڈالر کی مانگ کو بھی بڑھا دیا ہے۔
ملک کی ریکارڈ درآمدات اور تاریخی کرنٹ اکاؤنٹ خسارہ بھی روپے کی قدر کو متاثر کر رہا ہے۔

واضح رہے کہ گزشتہ روز انٹربینک مارکیٹ میں ڈالر 7 پیسے اضافے سے 168.09 روپے جبکہ اوپن کرنسی مارکیٹ میں ڈالر 30 پیسے اضافے سے 169 روپے پر بند ہوا۔
