Power tariff raised by Rs1.25 per unit

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: The Water and Power Ministry has increased the electricity tariff by Rs1.25 per unit. The hike will be applicable with immediate effect.




A notification issued here stated that the increase will be applicable across the country including Karachi. The tariff has been increased to Rs8.83 and the government is still paying a subsidy of Rs3.08.
With the current hike in power tariff, the government will get Rs90 billion revenue per year.
Lifeline consumers will be excluded from this increase.








ملک بھر ميں بجلي کے نرخ ميں اضافہ


اسلام آباد… کراچي سميت ملک بھر ميں بجلي کا في يونٹ ٹيرف سوا روپيہ بڑھاديا گيا ہے، اسکا نفاذ فوري طور پر ہوگا. وزارت پاني و بجلي کي طرف سے جاري نوٹي فکيشن کے مطابق بجلي قيمتوں کا في يونٹ نزخ 1 روپيہ 25 پيسے بڑھاديا ہے ، اس سے بجلي کا اوسط ٹيرف 7 روپے 58 پيسے سے بڑھ کر 8 روپے 83 پيسے ہوگيا ہے، وزارت کا کہنا ہے کہ اب بھي ملک ميں بجلي کے في يونٹ پر 3 روپے 8 پيسے في يونٹ سب سڈي دي جارہي ہے جبکہ بجلي ٹيرف ميں اضافہ سے سالانہ 90 ارب روپے کا ريونيو ملے گا، نزخوں ميں اضافے کا اطلاق لائف لائن صارفين پر نہيں ہوگا.
