Lahore still tops the list of the world’s most polluted cities.

There are still air pollution and smog camps all over Punjab including Lahore. Today, Lahore is once again at number one in the list of most polluted cities in the world. Lahore’s overall air quality index has been recorded at 396.

The Indian city of Delhi ranks third with an air quality index of 236, the Chinese city of Wuhan 204 and Vietnam Hanoi fourth. In addition, Karachi ranks 12th in air pollution with 165 air quality index.

On the other hand, for the last several days, due to air pollution, the citizens have been facing medical problems and breathing has become difficult. Colds, flu, cough and other infections are spreading rapidly among the people.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain in the next 24 hours. Due to lack of rain, smog and air pollution will remain while the weather in Punjab will remain dry and cold today and tomorrow.

لاہور سمیت پنجاب بھر میں اب بھی فضائی آلودگی اور سموگ کے ڈیرے ہیں۔ آج لاہور ایک بار پھر دنیا کے آلودہ ترین شہروں کی فہرست میں پہلے نمبر پر ہے۔ لاہور کا مجموعی ہوا کے معیار کا انڈیکس 396 ریکارڈ کیا گیا ہے۔

بھارتی شہر دہلی 236 کے ہوا کے معیار کے انڈیکس کے ساتھ تیسرے نمبر پر، چینی شہر ووہان 204 اور ویتنام کا ہنوئی چوتھے نمبر پر ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ کراچی فضائی آلودگی میں 165 ایئر کوالٹی انڈیکس کے ساتھ 12ویں نمبر پر ہے۔

دوسری جانب گزشتہ کئی روز سے فضائی آلودگی کے باعث شہریوں کو طبی مسائل کا سامنا ہے اور سانس لینا بھی مشکل ہو گیا ہے۔ لوگوں میں نزلہ، زکام، کھانسی اور دیگر انفیکشن تیزی سے پھیل رہے ہیں۔

محکمہ موسمیات کے مطابق آئندہ 24 گھنٹوں میں بارش کا کوئی امکان نہیں۔ بارش نہ ہونے کے باعث سموگ اور فضائی آلودگی برقرار رہے گی جب کہ پنجاب میں آج اور کل موسم خشک اور سرد رہے گا۔
