وسیم اکرم کو پاکستان کی قومی ٹیم کی کوچنگ کرنی چاہیے: وقار یونس
Former Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis believes that legendary pacer Wasim Akram should consider coaching the Pakistan national team as he would be best suited for the role. Waqar said that Wasim has been an excellent coach in the franchise T20 league and he should take steps to become the coach of the national team in the near future.
Waqar said that Wasim may play the role of Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team.
“I am serious, and I have spoken to him for a long time about this. He has a good opinion on the cricket board as well, and he is one of the biggest cricket names in the country. The 49-year-old said that it was not necessary for the Pakistan team to look for a foreign coach as he believed that local coaches were capable of doing a good job. Waqar said there are many specialist coaches who are familiar with Pakistan’s domestic structure who can do remarkable things for Pakistan.
Waqar also teased former pacer Aaqib Javed, who commented that Waqar should learn the art of coaching before his inevitable return to the national team as a coach. Aaqib said Waqar has come back five times in 15 years and he still doesn’t know how to coach.
Waqar said, ‘Suppose Aaqib Javed has taken a coaching course and is currently coaching Lahore Qalandars. Why doesn’t he try to coach the Pakistani team?’
The former Pakistan captain recently resigned from his coaching post after serving as a bowling coach for two years.

49 سالہ کھلاڑی نے کہا کہ پاکستان ٹیم کے لیے غیر ملکی کوچ کی تلاش ضروری نہیں کیونکہ اسے یقین تھا کہ مقامی کوچ اچھے کام کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں۔ وقار نے کہا کہ بہت سے ماہر کوچ ہیں جو پاکستان کے گھریلو ڈھانچے سے واقف ہیں جو پاکستان کے لیے قابل ذکر کام کر سکتے ہیں۔
وقار نے سابق پیسر عاقب جاوید کو بھی چھیڑا ، جنہوں نے تبصرہ کیا کہ وقار کو بطور کوچ قومی ٹیم میں اپنی ناگزیر واپسی سے قبل کوچنگ کا فن سیکھنا چاہیے۔ عاقب نے کہا کہ وقار 15 سالوں میں پانچ بار واپس آیا ہے اور وہ ابھی تک نہیں جانتا کہ کوچ کرنا کیسے ہے۔
وقار نے کہا ، ‘فرض کریں عاقب جاوید نے کوچنگ کورس لیا ہے اور اس وقت لاہور قلندرز کی کوچنگ کر رہے ہیں۔ وہ پاکستانی ٹیم کی کوچنگ کی کوشش کیوں نہیں کرتا؟ ‘
پاکستان کے سابق کپتان نے حال ہی میں دو سال بولنگ کوچ کے طور پر خدمات انجام دینے کے بعد اپنے کوچنگ عہدے سے استعفیٰ دے دیا۔
