UN removes Osama bin Laden from sanctions list

(eNews.pk) - UNITED NATIONS: Almost two years after his death at the hands of U.S. special forces, a committee of the Security Council of the UN has eliminated al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden on its list of sanctions, despite an order freeze the assets of it stays in place.




Bin Laden had been subject to a travel ban and assets freeze since it was mentioned by the Security Council Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee on 25 January 2001.
