سپریم کورٹ نے پاکستان کی سرکاری زبان تبدیل کرنے میں ناکامی پر وفاقی حکومت کو تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا
The Supreme Court criticized the federal government for failing to make Urdu the official language of the country despite directions given six years ago.
A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandiyal headed a contempt of court petition against the government for failing to implement Urdu as an official language. .
“Without the mother tongue and the national language, we will lose our identity,” Justice Bandiyal said. “In my opinion, we should learn Persian and Arabic like our ancestors.”
The Acting Chief Justice said that in 2015, the Supreme Court had ordered the implementation of Urdu as the official language, but so far no progress has been made.
The Acting Chief Justice said that Article 251 of the Constitution mentions the mother tongue along with the regional languages.
He sought an answer from the Punjab government for not introducing the Punjab government as an official language in the province.
The court adjourned the hearing for a month by sending notices to the Punjab and central government.

قائم مقام چیف جسٹس آف پاکستان (سی جے پی) جسٹس عمر عطا بندیال کی سربراہی میں سپریم کورٹ کے تین رکنی بینچ نے اردو کو سرکاری زبان کے طور پر نافذ کرنے میں ناکامی پر حکومت کے خلاف توہین عدالت کی درخواست کی سربراہی کی۔ .
جسٹس بندیال نے کہا کہ مادری زبان اور قومی زبان کے بغیر ہم اپنی شناخت کھو دیں گے۔ میری رائے میں ہمیں اپنے باپ دادا کی طرح فارسی اور عربی سیکھنی چاہیے۔
قائم مقام چیف جسٹس نے کہا کہ 2015 میں سپریم کورٹ نے اردو کو بطور سرکاری زبان نافذ کرنے کا حکم دیا تھا ، لیکن اب تک کوئی پیش رفت نہیں ہوئی۔
قائم مقام چیف جسٹس نے کہا کہ آئین کے آرٹیکل 251 میں علاقائی زبانوں کے ساتھ مادری زبان کا بھی ذکر ہے۔
انہوں نے پنجاب حکومت سے صوبے میں بطور سرکاری زبان متعارف نہ کرانے پر پنجاب حکومت سے جواب طلب کیا۔
عدالت نے پنجاب اور مرکزی حکومت کو نوٹس بھیج کر سماعت ایک ماہ کے لیے ملتوی کردی۔
