پنجاب حکومت آلودگی کا باعث بننے والی صنعتوں کے خلاف کارروائی شروع کرے گی۔
The Lahore High Court has directed the Punjab government to start crackdown industries across the province which are causing increase in pollution.
Responding to a petition filed by Advocate Shiraz Zaka, Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court directed the Punjab Water Commission to take stern action against the industries responsible for environmental degradation.
The Lahore High Court judge observed that eradication of environmental pollution was the primary responsibility of the government and the Punjab government had failed to discharge this duty effectively.
The Punjab government has also failed to implement strict measures to protect the environment in the province.
These industries are contaminated with groundwater such as arsenic, iron and fluoride and are responsible for 1.5 million deaths annually.
A Lahore High Court judge has ordered the appointment of an environmental inspector to ensure the installation of water treatment plants and zigzag technology through the sugar and brick kiln industries to prevent environmental degradation.
He also demanded action against factories and shops involved in the manufacture and sale of plastic bags despite a complete ban on the import, manufacture and sale of plastic bags.
Postponing the petition till September 9, he added that such petitions in the public interest should not be dismissed and their judicial scrutiny should continue.
لاہور ہائی کورٹ نے پنجاب حکومت کو حکم دیا ہے کہ وہ صوبے بھر میں کریک ڈاؤن انڈسٹریز شروع کرے جو آلودگی میں اضافے کا باعث بن رہی ہیں۔
ایڈووکیٹ شیراز ذکا کی جانب سے دائر درخواست پر جواب دیتے ہوئے لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے جسٹس شاہد کریم نے پنجاب واٹر کمیشن کو ماحولیاتی انحطاط کے ذمہ دار صنعتوں کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کرنے کا حکم دیا۔
لاہور ہائیکورٹ کے جج نے مشاہدہ کیا کہ ماحولیاتی آلودگی کا خاتمہ حکومت کی بنیادی ذمہ داری ہے اور پنجاب حکومت اس ڈیوٹی کو مؤثر طریقے سے ادا کرنے میں ناکام رہی ہے۔
پنجاب حکومت صوبے میں ماحولیات کے تحفظ کے لیے سخت اقدامات پر عمل درآمد کرنے میں بھی ناکام رہی ہے۔
ان صنعتوں میں زمینی پانی آلودہ ہے جیسے کہ آرسینک ، آئرن اور فلورائیڈ جیسے نقصان دہ مادے اور سالانہ 1.5 ملین اموات کے ذمہ دار ہیں۔
لاہور ہائیکورٹ کے جج نے ماحولیاتی انحطاط کو روکنے کے لیے چینی اور اینٹوں کے بھٹے کی صنعتوں کے ذریعے بالترتیب واٹر ٹریٹمنٹ پلانٹس اور زگ زگ ٹیکنالوجی کی تنصیب کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے ماحولیاتی انسپکٹر کی تقرری کا حکم دیا ہے۔
انہوں نے پلاسٹک کے تھیلوں کی درآمد ، تیاری اور فروخت پر مکمل پابندی کے باوجود پلاسٹک بیگ کی تیاری اور فروخت میں ملوث فیکٹریوں اور دکانوں کے خلاف کارروائی کا بھی مطالبہ کیا۔
درخواست کو 9 ستمبر تک ملتوی کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ عوامی مفاد کی ایسی درخواستوں کو خارج نہیں کیا جانا چاہیے اور ان کی عدالتی نگرانی جاری رہنی چاہیے۔
