Palestine get observer state status in UN

(eNews.pk) - UN: General Assembly of the United Nations voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to recognize Palestine as a non-member, delivering a big win for President Mahmoud Abbas to the strong opposition from U.S. and Israel.




Abbas asked the United Nations to give a "birth certificate" of a Palestinian state and was rewarded with the support of 139 countries.
Only nine members attended the Israeli warnings that the move could lead to more violence and voted against. Forty-one vote abstained.The elevates the status of the Palestinian Authority of an observer entity to a "non-member observer state" with the same status as the Vatican.

نیویارک… اقوام متحدہ میں فلسطین کو مبصر ریاست کی حیثیت دے دی گئی ہے۔غیرملکی خبر ایجنسی کے مطابق اقوام متحدہ کی جنرل اسمبلی میں فلسطین کی حما یت میں 138ووٹ ڈالے گئیجبکہ 9نے مخالفت کی۔ 41ممالک نے ووٹنگ میں حصہ نہیں لیا۔امریکا ،اسرائیل اور کینیڈا نے مخالفت میں ووٹ دیا۔جنرل اسمبلی اراکین نے فلسطین کے حق میں فیصلہ دیتے ہوئے اقوام متحدہ میں مبصر ریاست کی حیثیت دے دی۔اس موقع پر امریکی وزیر خارجہ ہلیری کلنٹن نے فلسطین کو آزاد ریاست تسلیم کرنے کی مخالفت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ فلسطین کو آزاد ریاست تسلیم کرنے سے مسئلہ حل نہیں ہوگا۔
