KSE plummet on world stocks nose-dive

KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) today hit by the global slump on fears that the economy could be slipping back toward recession was seen at one time during the trading tumbled down by over 500 points, while a Tsunami like situation prevailed and every investor was seen taking a safe position by offloading their holdings as fast as they could.
On both sides of the Atlantic, economic vital signs are rapidly deteriorating. The U.S.’s recovery is stalling and Europe’s debt crisis is threatening to strike Spain and Italy, which have two of the continent’s largest economies. Investors are increasingly afraid that the world’s leading governments, weighed down by debt and wounded by the last economic downturn, might not have the wherewithal to keep the emerging crisis in check.
KSE's benchmark 100-share index was trading at the time of filing this report 500 points down, as the foreign investors following the global sell-off suit started offloading their holdings that sent the market into panic selling.
"The fresh pressure on the KSE is coming from the regional and global sell-off and as it is, the local bourse was already fragile because of the security situation," said Sajid Bhanji,
director at Arif Habib Ltd.

and scramble for cash and government bonds. Trading is automatically halted when a Pakistani stock drops 5 percent or more

ایشیائی اسٹاک مارکیٹس میں گراوٹ،کے ایس ای میں بھی شدید مندی
کراچی… امریکی یورپی معیشتوں میں معاشی مشکلات کے باعث دنیا بھر کی اسٹاک مارکیٹوں میں شدید مندی دیکھی گئی جبکہ کے ایس ای 100 انڈیکس میں ٹریڈنگ کے دوران ایک موقع پر500 سے زائد پوائنٹس کی گراوٹ دیکھی گئی۔ امریکی معیشت کے جاری کمزور اعداد و شمار اور یورپی کمیشن کی کی جانب سے اس بات کے انکشاف کے بعد کہ خطے میں قرض کا بحران دوسر ے خطوں کی معیشتوں میں پھیلنے کا خدشہ ظاہر ہونے کے باعث سرمایا کاروں کے اعتماد کو دھچکا لگا۔ اور بین الاقوامی مارکیٹوں میں 2 سال کے بعد ایسی مندی دیکھی گئی اور ایشیائی مارکیٹ میں ٹوکیو انڈیکس میں 3.63 فیصد گراوٹ ، ہانگ کانگ انڈیکس میں 4.75 فیصد جبکہ شنگھائی انڈیکس 1.88 فیصد ، اور ممبئی انڈیکس میں 2.67 فیصد کی گراوٹ دیکھی گئی۔ اس کے علاوہ یورپی اور امریکی اسٹاک مارکیٹوں میں 3 سے 5 فیصد کی کمی دیکھی گئی ۔ بین الاقوامی مارکیٹوں میں شدید مندی کے اثرات مقامی اسٹاک مارکیٹوں پر دیکھئے گئے جہاں غیر ملکی سرمایا کاروں کی جانب سے شیئرز کی فروخت کے بعد کے ایس ای 100 انڈیکس 11 ہزار393 پوائنٹس کی سطح پر دیکھا گیا جو ساڑے 3 ماہ کی کم ترین سطح ہے۔
