Iran stops oil sales to British, French companies

(eNews.pk) - TEHRAN: Iran has stopped selling crude to British and French companies, the oil ministry said on Sunday.




"Exporting crude to British and French companies has been stopped ... we will sell our oil to new customers," spokesman Alireza Nikzad was quoted as saying by the ministry of petroleum website.
The move appeared to be in retaliation for a decision by the European Union in January to stop importing crude from Iran from July 1 over its disputed nuclear programme, which the West says is aimed at building bombs. Iran denies this.
Iran's oil minister said on Feb. 4 that the Islamic state would cut its oil exports to "some" European countries.
"We have our own customers ... The replacements for these companies have been considered by Iran," Nikzad said. (Reuters)

تہران … ايران نے يورپي يونين کي پابنديوں کيخلاف جوابي حکمت عملي اپناتے ہوئے برطانيہ اور فرانس کوخام تيل کي فروخت روک دي .غيرملکي خبر رساں ادارے کے مطابق ايران کي وزارت پيٹروليم کے ترجمان کي جانب سے جاري بيان ميں کہا گيا ہے برطانيہ اور فرانس کي پيٹروليم کمپنيوں کو تيل کي فراہمي روک دي گئي ہے اور اب ايران اپنا تيل نئے صارفين کو بيچے گا .ترجمان کا مزيد کہنا تھا کہ تيل کي فراہمي روکے جانے سے فروخت متاثر نہيں ہوگي،تاہم اگر ايران پر پابندياں عائد کي گئيں تو بين الاقوامي مارکيٹ ميں اس کا شديد اثر پڑيگا.واضح رہے کہ يورپي يونين نے ايراني ايٹمي پروگرام کے تنازعے پر گزشتہ ماہ فيصلہ کيا تھا کہ يکم جولائي سے ايراني خام تيل کي درآمد بندکردي جائيگي،جس پر ايران نے جوابي اقدام کرتے ہوئے تيل کي فراہمي قبل ازوقت ہي روک دي ہے.
