Inquiry ordered into Kohistan killings

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: Taking notice of alleged killings of women in Kohistan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday ordered judicial inquiry into the incident in which 4 women were reported to be killed as a punishment for dancing at a wedding in Kohistan.



However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare Sattar Ayaz talking to Geo news denied the report, saying the women who danced at the wedding ceremony were not killed.



The Interior Minister said a judicial commission would conduct investigation into the incident.



It was reported that a Jirga in Kohistan had announced death sentences for 4 women and 2 boys for dancing at a wedding.

اسلام آباد … وفاقي وزير داخلہ رحمان ملک نے کوہستان ميں لڑکيوں کو سزائے موت سنانے کے واقعے کا نوٹس لے ليا، جبکہ وزير سماجي بہبود خيبر پختونخوا کا کہنا ہے کہ کوہستان ميں شادي کي تقريب ميں رقص کرنے والي خواتين کو قتل نہيں کيا گيا. وفاقي وزير داخلہ رحمان ملک نے کوہستان واقعے کا نوٹس ليتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ اس واقعے کي تحقيقات جوڈيشل کميشن کرے گا. دوسري جانب صوبائي وزير سماجي بہبود ستازہ اياز نے جيو نيوز سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ کوہستان ميں رقص کرنے والي خواتين کو قتل نہيں کيا گيا.واضح رہے کہ کوہستان ميں جرگے نے شادي کي تقريب ميں رقص کرنے والے 2 لڑکو ں اور 4 خواتين کو سزائے موت سنائي تھي.
